Mike Forbes "Everybody at Kingennie would like to thank Paul Young for his continued support of the SNAP and Castaways Programmes. Paul like ourselves is totally committed to the young fishers of today who will be the fisherman of the future."
Paul Young "I feel very strongly about promoting kids in fishing as without them our sport will surely diminish. Kingennie is an ideal place for all level of anglers to experience fishing at its best"
SNAPSNAP was set up in September 2006 to create a socially inclusive structure for growth within the angling community. The programme is funded for three years at which point the angling community and its governance will take over the running of the programme.
SNAP’s three main areas of work will be in club development; volunteer training; and the creation of a national web based angling club for young people. The SNAP manager will also chair the newly formed Joint Angling Development Bodies Of Scotland (JADBOS) who will be responsible for the overall development of the sport and the uptake after 3 years of any structures put in place by SNAP.
CastawaysThe Castaways is a project devoted to getting young people in Scotland out there and catching fish.
The Castaways is designed to provide access to affordable equipment, fishing and instruction as well as providing a national web based club for new and current young anglers.
